The cessation of Catalonia from Spain poses the all important question if independence on cultural, religious or ethnic basis is justified? And how is the mother country to deal with the rebellion? Ayn Rand's philosophy Objectivism says that cessation is justified, on condition that it leads to more liberty. Thusly: independence is okay for the secular Kurds, but not for the europhile Catalonians.

A Judge in Spain has ordered the arrest of deposed Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont. His belief in the moral justice of the European overlord has led him and four of his former cabinet members to flee to Brussels. The Spanish Court has begun interrogating rebel leaders. It has rejected Puigdemont's offer to testify via video link. Puigdemont stands accused of incitement, abuse of public assets and trust. The central Government has fired Puigdemont and his cabinet after they declared independence. The Catalonian rebel leader said to the Belgian media that he is willing to submit to "real Justice" by which he means the authorities of Belgium, not Spain. He called the actions of the Rajoy Government "extremely barbaric", who's "rules are not democratic". Puigdemont said he wants to participate in the election proces next month in Catalonia.
