An FBI intel briefing of the former president shows the silliness of the Trump obstruction inquiry.
By Andrew McCarthy
Welcome to the “Trump-Russia” investigation and the pro-Trump media’s coverage of the latest “stunning” revelation: a text in which two top FBI counterintelligence officials discuss the fact that the president “wants to know everything we’re doing.” This has much of the conservative media crowing: The text, commentators exclaim, shows that Obama lied four months earlier when he claimed — hilariously, to be sure — that he never interfered in law-enforcement matters. Uh, guys, counterintelligence is not law enforcement. If Obama demanded an intelligence briefing, that indicates he was doing what he was supposed to be doing as president. (...)

Counterintelligence investigations, on the other hand, are not criminal investigations. They are not a rule-of-law issue or a judicial matter. The objective is not to prosecute someone who has violated the penal law, so we are not worried that political officials, rather than legal principles, control the outcome. That’s because counterintelligence is national security work, which is the principal duty of the political branches under the Constitution. Counterintelligence is an information-gathering exercise undertaken for one purpose and one purpose alone: to inform the president, through his subordinate intelligence officials, of information about threats to, and opportunities to advance, American interests. (...)

Consequently, what this episode ought to focus the commentariat on is the obstruction angle of the Mueller investigation. It is cockamamie. The theory behind this aspect of the special counsel’s work is that President Trump obstructed the Russia probe by, principally, (a) leaning on Comey to drop the investigation of Michael Flynn, (b) firing Comey, and (c) “threatening” to fire Mueller. Here is the problem: The Russia investigation is principally a counterintelligence investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 investigation. The president cannot interfere in a counterintelligence investigation. (...) Counterintelligence investigations are conducted for the president.

(...) the following happen to be constitutional facts: Trump is president and counterintelligence operations are conducted for the purpose of informing him, not for the purpose of building criminal prosecutions. If Mueller was to be engaged in a criminal investigation of Trump, the Justice Department was supposed to make that clear in defining the scope of the special-counsel appointment. It did no such thing. (...) It might be different if the Russia investigation were principally a criminal investigation and Trump were a suspect. But it is not (according to the Justice Department’s order appointing Mueller) and he is not (according to Director Comey, in conjunction with the utter absence of evidence that Trump was involved in any criminal conspiracy, much less a criminal conspiracy (...)\

Just the same, President Trump cannot obstruct a counterintelligence investigation. Such investigations are not undertaken to build prosecutions but to inform him. That’s the point. (More)

Tick, tick, tick… we’re getting closer and closer to the “What did the president know and when did he know it?” moment in the biggest political scandal in American history. What looks like a sitting president authorizing the use of the vast spy apparatus of the federal government on the opposing party candidate for president would, if proven, be far bigger than Watergate – a mere burglary intended to spy on the opposition. Pay attention because you may want to tell your children or grandchildren what it was like watching this all unfold in 2018. Up until the present moment, Barack Obama has been missing in all the discussions of surveillance misbehavior. (...)
Page wrote to Strzok on Sept. 2, 2016 about prepping Comey because "potus wants to know everything we're doing." Senate investigators told Fox News this text raises questions about Obama's personal involvement in the Clinton email investigation. (snip)
Strzok also calls Virginians who voted against then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe's wife for a state Senate seat "ignorant hillbillys." (sic) That text came from Strzok to Page on Nov. 4, 2015, the day after Jill McCabe lost a hotly contested Virginia state Senate election. Strzok said of the result,
"Disappointing, but look at the district map. Loudon is being gentrified, but it's still largely ignorant hillbilliys. Good for her for running, but curious if she's energized or never again." (snip)
The newly uncovered texts reveal a bit more about the timing of the discovery of "hundreds of thousands" of emails on former congressman Anthony Weiner's laptop, ultimately leading to Comey's infamous letter to Congress just days before the 2016 presidential election.
(...) This raises “yuuuge” problems for McCabe and Comey because: It was a full month later, on Oct. 28, 2016 when Comey informed Congress that, "Due to recent developments," the FBI was reopening its Clinton email investigation. "In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation. I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday..." Comey said at the time. Comey swore under penalty of perjury that he was kept in the dark by McCabe, apparently. (...)

On Election Day 2016, Page wrote, "OMG THIS IS F***ING TERRIFYING." Strzok replied, "Omg, I am so depressed." Later that month, on Nov. 13, 2016 Page wrote, "I bought all the president's men. Figure I need to brush up on watergate." The next day, Nov. 14, 2016, Page wrote,
“God, being here makes me angry. Lots of high fallutin’ national security talk. Meanwhile we have OUR task ahead of us.”
Page’s meaning here is unclear, but Senate investigators say, coupled with Strzok’s Aug. 15 text about an “insurance policy,” further investigation is warranted to find out what actions the two may have taken. (...) The last text is from Page to Strzok, and comes on June 23, 2017 when she wrote, "Please don't ever text me again." (Source)

Feb. 5, 2018 Laura Ingraham talks to Carter Page on the revelations from the Nunes memo.

Last night Laura Ingraham had an interview with Carter Page, a short lived Trump foreign policy volunteer and since suspected of being a Putin agent. It coincided with an article going further into the past of this mysterious figure. According to Democrat conventional wisdom, Page has been under FBI investigation "since 2013", a probe that is still "ongoing" to this day. But now it seems, the shoe is on the other foot: Page has been working for the FBI in one capacity or another for years. Page himself implicitly confirmed it in the interview with Ingraham. A thread by Imperator explores Page's role, as well those of Manafort and Papadopoulos as deep state agents. Imperator is probably not aware of the historical relationship between Manafort and Roger Stone, who ran a Conservative political PR firm together. Roger Stone advised Trump is the very early stages of the campaign. Rising Serpent's thread makes the case of Page as a deep state plant who penetrated the Trump campaign. Page seems well versed in the art of talking without actually saying anything. Watch the interview!
In 2013 Carter Page was working as an “under-cover employee” (UCE) of the FBI, helping them to build a case against “Evgeny Buryakov”. In March 2016 Carter Page remained their informant pre-trial leading to a pleading of guilty from Buryakov. (...) In 2016 Reuters published an article, based on the ongoing court case, going into detail about court records and how the FBI built their case. (...) In April 2017, writing a story about Carter Page (trying to enhance/affirm the Russian narrative), the New York Times outlined Page’s connections to the Trump campaign. However, New York Times also references Page’s prior connection to the Buryakov case. If you ignore the narrative, you discover the UCE1 description is Carter Page. New FBI texts highlight a motive to conceal the president’s involvement. From the first, these columns [by Andrew MacCarthy] have argued that the whitewash of the Hillary Clinton–emails caper was President Barack Obama’s call — not the FBI’s, and not the Justice Department’s. (...) The decision was inevitable. Obama, using a pseudonymous email account, had repeatedly communicated with Secretary Clinton over her private, non-secure email account. These emails must have involved some classified information, given the nature of consultations between presidents and secretaries of state, the broad outlines of Obama’s own executive order defining classified intelligence (see EO 13526, section 1.4), and the fact that the Obama administration adamantly refused to disclose the Clinton–Obama emails. If classified information was mishandled, it was necessarily mishandled on both ends of these email exchanges. If Clinton had been charged, Obama’s culpable involvement would have been patent. In any prosecution of Clinton, the Clinton–Obama emails would have been in the spotlight. For the prosecution, they would be more proof of willful (or, if you prefer, grossly negligent) mishandling of intelligence. More significantly, for Clinton’s defense, they would show that Obama was complicit in Clinton’s conduct yet faced no criminal charges.  (More)

During an interview with Fox News Chief Intelligence Correspondent Catherine Herridge broadcast on Monday’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” former Intelligence Community Inspector General under President Obama Charles McCullough III accused the Hillary Clinton campaign of engaging in an effort to mislead the public about her emails and said the campaign threatened to have him fired for his work in the email probe. McCullough said that the 22 top secret emails on Clinton’s server contained information that would have harmed national security and “absolutely” endangered lives, sources, methods, and operations had it been released. McCullough also claimed he was told by “senior officials” to keep Director of National Intelligence James Clapper out of the loop after he talked with Clapper about the emails. (More)

Shortly before last year’s election, FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe wrote an email on his official government account stating that the Hillary Clinton email probe had been given “special” status, according to documents released Wednesday. McCabe’s Oct. 23, 2016, email to press officials in the FBI said the probe was under the control of a small group of high-ranking people at the FBI’s headquarters in Washington. (...) FBI officials on Wednesday night refused to answer what McCabe meant by calling the Clinton email probe a “special” or why it was restricted to a small team at headquarters when it began. (More)

Attorney General Jeff Sessions will testify in front of the House Judiciary Committee today. Sessions' hearing will give the committee a chance to question him about standard matters such as immigration, but also about a second special counsel how the FBI handled the investigation into Hillary's emails, the Steele dossier, James Comey, and any connections to Russia.

In documents it released on Monday, the FBI confirmed that former FBI Director James Comey drafted a statement about the conclusion of the Hillary Clinton email investigation months before interviewing Clinton. The records show that on May 2, 2016, Comey emailed Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, general counsel James Baker and chief of staff and senior counselor James Rybicki. The subject of the email was "midyear exam," and though the email says its contents are unclassified, the body of the email is redacted in the release. (More)

James Comey’s irreparable reputation took another body blow this week after a memo emerged, written by the former FBI Director, appearing to exonerate Hillary Clinton of any wrongdoing in relation to her handling of classified information — prior to the investigation’s conclusion. (...) National Review’s Andrew McCarthy believes Obama was the puppet master, so to speak, driving the narrative to insure Hillary was gotten off the hook, ensuring the Democrat Party continued its control over the White House. National Review reports:

Let’s think about what else was going on in April 2016. I’ve written about it a number of times over the last year-plus, such as in a column a few months back: On April 10, 2016, President Obama publicly stated that Hillary Clinton had shown “carelessness” in using a private e-mail server to handle classified information, but he insisted that she had not intended to endanger national security (which is not an element of the [criminal statutes relevant to her e-mail scandal]). The president acknowledged that classified information had been transmitted via Secretary Clinton’s server, but he suggested that, in the greater scheme of things, its importance had been vastly overstated. This is precisely the reasoning that Comey relied on in ultimately absolving Clinton, as I recounted in the same column: On July 5, 2016, FBI director James Comey publicly stated that Clinton had been “extremely careless” in using a private email server to handle classified information, but he insisted that she had not intended to endanger national security (which is not an element of the relevant criminal statute). On September 28th, 2016, Texas GOP Rep. John Ratcliffe asked Comey the following (simple) question: “Director, did you make the decision not to recommend criminal charges relating to classified information before or after Hillary Clinton was interviewed by the FBI on July 2nd?” Comey’s answer under oath? “After” (...)

Sep 29, 2016 Rep. John Ratcliffe, TX to Comey: "Do You Believe ANY laws broken by Hillary Clinton/Her lawyers?"

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley and fellow GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham wrote a letter to the FBI this week, expressing concern over whether Comey made up his mind about the email investigation months before his public news conference. “Conclusion first, fact-gathering second—that’s no way to run an investigation,” the senators wrote. “The FBI should be held to a higher standard than that, especially in a matter of such great public interest and controversy.” (More)

Aug. 8, 2017 Ed Klein - Confidential: A Plea Bargain for Hillary?

BREAKING REPORT: DOJ Believes there are Ample Grounds for Prosecuting Hillary. Newsmax is reporting that the DOJ believes there are ample grounds to prosecute Hillary. They are also considering offering Hillary a Plea Bargain in exchange for confessing multiple crimes. If they know she is guilty of multiple crimes, why let her off the hook like this? Seems there are still one set of rules for the Clintons, another for everyone else. (Source)

In an exclusive telephone interview with, noted Clinton author Ed Klein affirmed the reliability of his source for the story he published yesterday that the Justice Dept. has reopened the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information on her private email system while she was secretary of state, and is considering offering her a plea bargain if she were willing to plead guilty. Klein’s reporting suggests President Trump’s harsh criticism of Attorney General Sessions may have prompted the Justice Department not only to begin an investigation of criminal leaks, but also to reopen an investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. “My source is the golden standard of sources,” Klein insisted. “The lawyer who is my source is closer to the Clintons than anybody.” asked Klein if he considered it likely Hillary Clinton would accept a Justice Department plea bargain, if one were offered. “In my view and in the view of my source, it is highly unlikely – almost zero – that Hillary Clinton being Hillary Clinton will accept – if it were offered, and it has not yet been offered – a plea bargain,” Klein answered. While testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, FBI Director James Comey revealed that Huma Abedin, a top aide to Hillary Clinton, forwarded thousands of emails, including classified information, to her husband, Anthony Weiner. On MSNBC on Thursday morning, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) called for a special prosecutor to investigate if Abedin committed a crime by forwarding the classified material. “If there was classified information and it was improperly passed to a person unauthorized to receive it, yes, naturally it’s a crime,” Blumenthal said. “Without knowing what the intentions were and so forth, there is potentially a prosecutable crime.” (More)

The Comey testimony before the Senate Judicial Committee hearing caused some jaw dropping and utter disbelief. How can such a situation occur in a developed country that prides itself on the rule of law. It illustrates how the Obama regime was able to politicize the Justice Dept., the FBI and other branches of Government. Comey's troubles all stem from his June 5, 2016 statement in which he recitated the list of Clinton's criminal transgressions and then stopped to say, but...we can't establish intent. Translation: she was basically too incompetent to have intended anything. Then, after AG Loretta Lynch was caught talking on a plane with Bill Clinton, Comey's hand was forced for the first time. He was forced a second time into the open when thousands and thousands of Hillary emails containing classified information was found on Carlos Danger's laptop. Huma forwarded emails to him to print out for Hillary. One wonders, was there no secure printer available at the State Department? If you accept that Comey was solely responsible for fouling up Hillary's chances in the election, these must be reduced to the root, her cleansing of 33,000 emails and her illicit server in the basement of a mum and pop shop.

May 3, 2017 Live Stream:  FBI director James B. Comey testifies before Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

FBI Director James Comey will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday in a public hearing on FBI oversight, where he will likely face tough questions about his handling of the investigations into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server and Russia's interference in the 2016 election. The hearing is routine and is not expected to revolve around the bureau's probe into possible collusion between President Donald Trump's campaign and Russia. Democrats, however, will likely ask Comey why he did not disclose that investigation sooner and chose instead to publicly revisit the Clinton email investigation 11 days before the election. Republicans, meanwhile, are expected to focus on leaks from the intelligence community to the press about the FBI's probe into Trump's Russia ties. Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley, the chairman of the committee, will likely home in on the FBI's relationship with former British spy Christopher Steele, the author of an explosive but unverified dossier detailing the Trump campaign's ties to Russia. Grassley has sent two letters to Comey asking him to clarify reports that the bureau offered to pay Steele just before the election to continue investigating Trump's ties to Russia. (More)

In part duplicates, maybe. But another pointer how the FBI was able to go through the stack of 650,000 emails quite quickly is in Comey's letter, where he speaks of emails from and to Hillary Clinton. These were much less than 650,000. With less than 24 hours before the election we should not dwell on the matter and concentrate of new #PodestaEmails32 and #DNCLeak2 (mind the spelling in these hashtags).

Nov. 6, 2016

It's now obvious that FBI Director Comey is being controlled by the DOJ. It's corrupted to the core. Democrats have replaced morality with the law. When the judiciary fails to act, the conclusion is that there's nothing to see here, whereas everyone knows that having an unsecure server for handling classified material is against the law. The party owns this correct regime, but so do the voters should they elect Hllary into office on Tuesday. The very act of installing the illicit server reveals Hillary's bad intentions. Anonymous released part 1 of the Clinton Pedophile Ring yesterday on Pastebin. This was not wise as it will remain buried to the larger public. A reminder that the mother lode is the Clinton Foundation, but it will take time. Serious as the server/emails case is, it is a side show in comparison. The rebels in the NYPD/FBI have not yet reacted to the new situation. The ball is now in their court.

Nov. 2, 2016

And then there's this beauty. Dem sources told Fox News' Bret Baier that they meant, releasing them, but then they would say something like that.

In a letter to Congressional leaders earlier this week the DOJ wrotes that it “will continue to work closely with the FBI and together, dedicate all necessary resources and take appropriate steps as expeditiously as possible” in the investigation of the over 650,000 emails found on Anthony Weiner’s home computer. The letter was signed by Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik. (...) Peter Kadzik is a close friend of John Podesta. They dined together the day after Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi testimony before Congress. (...) In fact, according to Reddit users, Peter Kadzik is mentioned 20 times in the Wikileaks Podesta emails. (... ) NOW THIS…. Via Wikileaks we find out Kadzik leaked information to John Podesta on the Hillary email investigation back in 2015.

Update: make that 5! After a weekend of speculation we've finally been able to piece together the events and discoveries that led FBI director Comey to send a letter to Congress last Friday, telling them that the FBI had resumed its probe into Hillary's private server. There are now in fact three separate investigations: 1. Weiner's weiner thing, 2. Hillary's illicit server and 3. shock and awe, the Clinton Foundation has also been the subject of a probe for the last few months. Who knew?! The Democrats are their usual selves attacking the messenger, opening a media witch hunt on Comey turning him into the villain of the piece, and all that of course in the best spirit of hypocrisy. In the meantime there appears to be at least one Democrat who is not a party hack, first, second and last. Doug Schoen puts country first. A few highlights!

“Republican National Committee spokesman Sean Spicer told CNN’s Michael Smerconish Saturday that Huma Abedin signed an OF-109 disclosure form when she left the State Department in 2013, signifying she understood the “legal obligation” to “turn over all classified information and to further safeguard any further information that could be disclosed.” Let’s put this in context,” Spicer told Smerconish. “Hillary Clinton initially said she turned over everything that was relevant. The only thing she didn’t were emails regarding yoga and Chelsea’s wedding.” “We know that to be false.” “Further, when Huma Abedin left the State Department they have to file a form of OF-109,” he continued. Had anyone believed we'd see this day? So, Trump was right all along that the system is rigged.
Has America become so numb by the decades of lies and cynicism oozing from Clinton Inc. that it could elect Hillary Clinton as president, even after Friday's FBI announcement that it had reopened an investigation of her emails while secretary of state? We'll find out soon enough. It's obvious the American political system is breaking down. It's been crumbling for some time now, and the establishment elite know it and they're properly frightened. Donald Trump, the vulgarian at their gates, is a symptom, not a cause. Hillary Clinton and husband Bill are both cause and effect. FBI director James Comey's announcement about the renewed Clinton email investigation is the bombshell in the presidential campaign. That he announced this so close to Election Day should tell every thinking person that what the FBI is looking at is extremely serious. (More

Oct 29, 2016 Alex Jones: Comey resuming the case is a distraction from an even bigger development.

Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh are now on the same page with the information that Comey's action is a distraction from an even bigger event in the coming days. Plus of course the revelation that Obama is implicated under an ill disguised pseudonym, as well as Wikileaks and the shocking disclosures of Project Veritas. In the meantime news broke that Comey went against the advice of the DoJ/Loretta Lynch when he informed Congress of his plans. It would have been better for the Democrat/Hillary campaign had the FBI been able to resume its investigation in silence. Update: Democrats File DOJ Complaint Against FBI Director James Comey For Interfering In Presidential Election.

FBI Director James Comey went rogue when he told Congress that he has reopened the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s e-mails — defying direct orders from his boss, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, according to multiple reports. “Comey made an independent decision to alert the Hill,” a choice he made despite Lynch’s explicit instructions that he say nothing, a Justice official told the Washington Post on Saturday. It’s Justice Department policy not to comment on any ongoing investigation, especially when doing so could affect an impending election. But Comey felt that the upcoming election was precisely why the public needed to be informed, an administration official told the New Yorker. Comey was concerned that word of the re-opened investigation would leak out and raise questions of a coverup. He also wanted to keep his promise to update Congress with any developments in the case, the administration source said. (More)

On Friday Oct. 28, 11 days before the elections Comey, the director of the FBI wrote Congress that the FBI is resuming the investigation. He mentions some considerations, all pretty vague (scroll to the tweet below for Comey's letters). According to the media the decision is based on the FBI investigation into illicit text messages from Anthony Weiner to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina. Then a internal memo was posted in which Comey informed the FBI of his considerations. This letter is worded equally vague. He mentions that the information, whereas "unclear", is "pertinent" to the investigation on Hillary's private server. The Democrats want him for breakfast for exploding this cigar on their campaign on this weak basis. So what is going on here? Investigators by definition do not jump to conclusions. They start from a basis of neutrality, and properly so. Which explains Comey's choice of the word "unclear". Yet, he must have based his decision on something that, on the face of it, must be substantial. Or he's sensing that Wikileaks is preparing to drop the guillotine on Hillary and he's covering his ass. Or perhaps there was a revolt in the ranks of the FBI about the frankly scurrilous manner the probe has been conducted so far. Weiner, of course, is the perfect patsy in a farcical sort of way. Because the NYPD and the Special Victims Unit was involved in the Weiner case, Comey could no longer contain the case within the FBI. It stands to reason that forced his hand. Whatever the case may be, chances are slim that the investigation will be concluded before November 8. Democrat voters are Democrats first, second and last. They'll vote for Hillary even if she strangles her own grandmother on national television. First the serious stuff. We'll get to the rather good, funny memes things later on.

Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein: "New evidence has come to light."

CARL BERNSTEIN: Well, there's no question that the e-mails have always been the greatest threat to her candidacy for president, that her conduct in regard to the e-mails is really indefensible and if there was going to be more information that came out, it was the one thing, as I said on the air last night, actually that could really perhaps affect this election. We don't know what this means yet except that it's a real bombshell. And it is unthinkable that the Director of the FBI would take this action lightly, that he would put this letter forth to the Congress of the United States saying there is more information out there about classified e-mails and call it to the attention of congress unless it was something requiring serious investigation. So that's where we are... Is it a certainty that we won't learn before the election? I'm not sure it's a certainty we won't learn before the election. (More)

Not everyone believes the farce that Weiner/Abedin are the cause of the FBI resuming investigations. Many go by the theory that Wikileaks has something even bigger in the pipeline and the FBI brass are covering their ass. Various sources are reporting that the 33,000 missing emails have been recovered. Meanwhile Matt Schlapp is tweeting that Comey is actually a card carrying Democrat. Many Conservatives assume Comey is a principled Republican. The political affiliation shouldn't matter for honorable public servants, but in this case regrettably it does. Then there is the small matter of Hillary holding a fundraiser, with her confidante McAuliffe funneling the proceeds of over half a million dollars towards the senate campaign of the FBI case manager's wife. And then there's the implication of Barack Obama who's emails have been found under a badly disguised pseudonym that needed "cleaning up"; Bill Clinton's 40 minutes on Loretta Lynch's jet and the peculiar way the FBI handled the investigation so far. Let the speculating begin!
Emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server were found after the F.B.I. seized electronic devices once shared by Anthony D. Weiner and his estranged wife, Huma Abedin, a top aide to Mrs. Clinton, federal law enforcement officials said Friday. The F.B.I. is investigating illicit text messages that Mr. Weiner, a former Democratic congressman from New York, sent to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina. The bureau told Congress on Friday that it had uncovered new emails related to the Clinton case — one federal official said they numbered in the thousands — potentially reigniting an issue that has weighed on the presidential campaign and offering a lifeline to Donald J. Trump less than two weeks before the election. In a letter to Congress, the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, said that emails had surfaced in an unrelated case, and that they “appear to be pertinent to the investigation.” (Source)

The FBI is probing new emails related to Hillary Clinton, FBI Director James Comey said in a Friday letter. "In previous congressional testimony, I referred to the fact that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had completed its investigation of former Secretary Clinton's personal email server. Due to recent developments, I am writing to supplement my previous testimony," Comey wrote. "In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation. I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation," he added. "Although the FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be signifcant, and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work, I believe it is important to update your Committees about our efforts in light of my previous testimony," Comey concluded. Stocks turned negative after the report of the new probe. Many analysts have said that markets were pricing in a Clinton victory in November. (More)

Remember that WSJ story we told you about on Sunday that reported on a Gov. Terry McAuliffe super PAC that donated to the wife of a senior FBI official who just happened to take over Hillary Clinton’s email investigation? [Ed: scroll down to Oct. 24, 2016] Yeah … it just got a whole lot worse. Apparently Hillary Clinton herself was the one who raised the money for the super PAC that set off this entire chain of events in the first place! An email from a WikiLeaks hack revealed that Neera Tanden, who currently helps run the Clinton campaign transition team, suggested Hillary Clinton's top aides never disclosed her use of a private email servers because "they wanted to get away with it." For months now, we’ve been told that Hillary Clinton’s 33,000 missing emails were permanently erased and destroyed beyond recovery. But newly released FBI notes strongly suggest they still exist in several locations — and they could be recovered, if only someone would impanel a grand jury and seize them. (...) “The Clinton residences and other locations should have been treated like any other criminal investigation — with federal grand jury subpoenas or search warrants issued by judges and served in the middle of the night,” said veteran FBI special agent Michael M. Biasello, who worked criminal cases out of New York and other field offices for 27 years. “Never — I repeat, never — in my career have I or any FBI agent known to me investigated a criminal case without the use of a federal grand jury, grand jury subpoenas or search warrants,” he said. “It’s disgraceful they weren’t used in this case.” The most damning evidence against Clinton may never have been actually destroyed. It was simply left untouched by the FBI. (More)

The political organization of Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, an influential Democrat with longstanding ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton, gave nearly $500,000 to the election campaign of the wife of an official at the Federal Bureau of Investigation who later helped oversee the investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s email use. Campaign finance records show Mr. McAuliffe’s political-action committee donated $467,500 to the 2015 state Senate campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe, who is married to Andrew McCabe, now the deputy director of the FBI. The Virginia Democratic Party, over which Mr. McAuliffe exerts considerable control, donated an additional $207,788 worth of support to Dr. McCabe’s campaign in the form of mailers, according to the records. That adds up to slightly more than $675,000 to her candidacy from entities either directly under Mr. McAuliffe’s control or strongly influenced by him. The figure represents more than a third of all the campaign funds Dr. McCabe raised in the effort. (More)

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Monday night at a campaign rally in Wisconsin that newly released FBI records reveal "a criminal act" he claims is worse than Watergate while calling for a senior State Department official to resign. "This is one of the great miscarriages of justice in the history of our country," he said. Newly released FBI documents revealed Monday that a senior State Department official proposed a “quid pro quo” to convince the FBI to strip the classification on an email from Hillary Clinton’s server – and repeatedly tried to “influence” the bureau’s decision when his offer was denied, even taking his plea up the chain of command. Fox News first reported Saturday that the FBI interview summaries and notes, known as 302s, contained allegations of a quid pro quo. Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz, who initially told Fox News of the claim, called it a “flashing red light of potential criminality.” Documents published Monday morning confirm the account.

Notes from an interview with an unnamed FBI official reveal the State Department Undersecretary for Management Patrick Kennedy tried to horse-trade with the FBI, offering additional slots for the bureau overseas if they would de-classify a particular email marked “SECRET.” (...) "The FBI documents show that Under-Secretary of State Patrick Kennedy made the request for altering classification as part of a 'quid pro quo,' in other words a deal," Trump told supporters. "This is felony corruption. Under-Secretary Kennedy needs to resign." Before his rally, Trump described the actions by the State Department to Fox News' Carl Cameron as "a criminal act," while also hurling criticisms at fellow Republicans. "It's a crime, and I hear the Republicans are going to hold hearings after the election, why would you hold them after the election? We want to hold those hearings before the election," Trump said. "It's a criminal act and it's incredible that they can do this and get away with it." (More)

Oct. 14, 2016 Hannity: Wikileaks emails shows collusion between the White House and Clinton Campaign (4:00 mnts).

The question is popping up, again and again. The destruction of 33,000 emails with BleachBit indicates that something more had to be covered up than emails about yoga, a wedding and a funeral. Wikileaks emails show collusion and that the cover up may well have involved emails from the White House, the real reason the emails had to be destroyed. If it came to a trial, Obama would be the first witness.

Hillary Clinton refuses to explain why she had a private server in her basement against Government rules.

If the rule of law would be upheld in the United States, there's no way that Hillary Clinton would get away with what she has done. But the rule of law is something for citizens and the military, not for members of the globalist ruling class. She is shielded from the top, while her husband committed a crime by talking to the Attorney General, Loretta Lynch for 40 minutes on het private plane. Clinton yesterday submitted her answers to 25 questions compiled by Citizens United under penalty of perjury (source). This is a serious matter and the closest we may ever get to due process. Question 1 Clinton rejected outright. A Secretary of State who fails to understand that ALL information she sends and receives is in principle sensitive unless about yoga, weddings and a funeral, is irresponsible and incompetent to say the least. In 2009, as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton signed a Classified Information Disclosure Agreement. The video below gives the simple argument why Hillary committed a crime, one for which to date she has not been held accountable. And perhaps never will, if the American people are dumbed down enough to elect her President on November 8. (More)

The FBI has opened an investigation into the Podesta Emails. Pertaining to the hacking that is. Meaning: so they can once again point to the Russians and their imagined connection with Trump. In the meantime the emails are indicating that there is no difference between the Clinton campaign, and all branches of the Obama administration, be it the Department of Justice, the State Department or the White House.
Republicans accused the Hillary Clinton campaign and Obama Justice Department of “collusion” on Tuesday after an email surfaced from the latest WikiLeaks document dump indicating the Clinton camp got a heads-up from the DOJ about one of the former secretary of state’s court cases. The May 2015 email from Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon said, “DOJ folks inform me there is a status hearing in this case this morning, so we could have a window into the judge's thinking about this proposed production schedule as quickly as today.”
The Fallon email apparently pertained to one of the lawsuits seeking the production of Clinton’s emails while at the State Department. Information about a status hearing likely would have been public anyway – and it’s unclear whether there was any further contact between the DOJ and Clinton campaign. But the email stoked GOP complaints that they had improper discussions about the former secretary of state’s emails, which the department investigated for months. Fallon happens to be a former spokesman with the Justice Department.

A country where the rule of law has broken down is descending into a banana republic. In the globalist world the elites are increasingly above the law. As Trey Gowdy said in the video: You can't compromize justice. Oh yes we can, said the Obama White House!
Newly disclosed emails show top Obama administration officials were in close contact with Hillary Clinton’s nascent presidential campaign in early 2015 about the potential fallout from revelations that the former secretary of state used a private email server. Their discussion included a request from the White House communications director to her counterpart at the State Department to see if it was possible to arrange for Secretary of State John Kerry to avoid questions during media appearances about Mrs. Clinton’s email arrangement. In another instance, a top State Department official assured an attorney for Mrs. Clinton that, contrary to media reports, a department official hadn’t told Congress that Mrs. Clinton erred in using a private email account.

Oct. 2, 2016 Fox News' Bartiromo: Trey Gowdy about Clinton Scandals, FBI, rule of law.

Even after hitting multiple stone walls, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., wants to keep fighting over Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state. In an interview Fox Business Network Sunday, Gowdy said the bedrock issues in the Clinton case revolve around setting a precedent for the integrity of justice in America, and the potential for justice to be compromised. “We have to have confidence in the (FBI) the morning after the election; the morning after the inauguration,” Gowdy said. Gowdy bristled at comments from FBI Director James Comey last week that after the politics was over it might be possible to take a fresh look at the case. (Source)

Hillary was never going to be prosecuted over the classified emails. Bombshell Clinton tell-all from Ed Klein, titled 'Guilty as Sin,' spells out how Bill Clinton charmed and intimidated Attorney General Loretta Lynch. Lynch was presiding over a Justice Department that nervously awaited the FBI's recommendation on whether or not to prosecute Hillary Clinto.  Hillary had exposed classified information to hackers and foreigners by running her State Department emails through an unsecured server. Bill, Klein writes, extracted a promise from Lynch that Hillary would never face criminal charges. (...) (More)

Today Citizens United is releasing 198 pages of emails between the State Department and Clinton Foundation on a host of issues. 43 of the pages have to do with the creation of the "Friends of the Clinton Centre" 501c3, its connection to an official State Department trip to Ireland, and a dinner that Secretary Clinton attended that doesn’t appear on her schedule. Other topics include China, Haiti, Iran, Cuba, Mexico, and more. The specter of foreign influence and the appearance of conflicts of interest are critically important issues. We will continue to release emails such as these in the weeks and months to come. In these emails, you'll find the following (...)

There is an immense amount of resentment in this country when it comes to Hillary Clinton. She comes off as thinking she’s above the law, and now there are allegations of “side agreements” with Justice Department officials. House Republicans are demanding answers regarding why Clinton aides Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson were allowed to have their laptops destroyed after their hard drives were searched for evidence, per House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte wrote a letter to Attorney Genereal Loretta Lynch on Monday detailing his concerns. He questioned why the destruction of laptops was included in immunity deals that already protected Mills and Samuelson from prosecution regardless. (...) One of the major questions was why the two Clinton aides were even permitted to accompany Clinton to the July interview with the FBI at all if they were already immunized witnesses in the case. The FBI weakly passed the buck, saying the interview was voluntary and Clinton could bring along whomever she wished. Further problems were uncovered including the fact FBI agents limited their search to documents created before January 2015 and that the immunity parameters prevented the investigators from performing a thorough investigation of the case. In a nutshell, the immunity deals offered to Mills and Samuelson protected the aides from prosecution related to their involvement in the alleged cover-up. It appears nothing can touch Hillary Clinton, and the immense disgust of millions of Americans is almost palpable in the air. (...)

James Comey, the current FBI director that let Hillary off the hook for her CLEAR violation of many laws with her email scandal, has now asked for immunity from congress for his involvement in the scandal and the subsequent findings. What what!? Immunity? That’s right. What Comey is asking for is to be absolved of what he’s done and anything that may happen in the future from any further investigations. How does that not throw up the biggest red flag in American history?! Well it did to Trey Gowdy and he just ripped Comey a new one and is about to do everything in his power to stop that immunity from happening! What happens next is anybody’s guess, but we’re assuming Gowdy will do everything in his power to bring James Comey to justice. And in turn, that means he’ll be bringing Hillary Clinton to justice as well because if the head of the FBI is asking for immunity, you can be damn sure that the grand architect of this entire fiasco will be going down with her.

This posting on Reddit verifies beyond reasonable doubt that Combetta is Stonetear. (Source) His immunity is said to be revoked (unconfirmed). The Hill has the story.
The House Science Committee is demanding interviews this week with employees of the IT firm that managed Hillary Clinton’s private email server. Two of those employees, Paul Combetta and Bill Thornton, recently pleaded the Fifth Amendment when subpoenaed to testify about the server before the House Oversight Committee. Science Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) had originally demanded transcribed interviews with seven Platte River Networks employees in July, but has been rebuffed. But Monday reports that Reddit users have uncovered a post by Combetta asking how to modify certain emails for a “VERY VIP” client have led Smith to demand the interviews be scheduled by Friday of this week. “If true, these details raise new questions as to whether Platte River Networks purposefully defied legal document retention requirements. Further, it is unclear if the Federal Bureau of Investigation was aware of these facts at the time of their investigation,” Smith wrote in a letter sent Monday. (PDF) (...)
Smith threatened to issue a subpoena if the interviews with Combetta and Thornton are not scheduled by noon on Friday. The House Oversight Committee is also looking into the Reddit post. (...)  The Reddit message was sent on July 23, 2014, according to the archive of the page saved by other users. The day before, the House Select Committee on Benghazi had reached an agreement with the State Department on the production of related records, according to the FBI's investigation into Clinton's use of the server. The identity of stonetear is not confirmed. Reddit users point to the fact that an account on the online marketplace Etsy for a Paul Combetta has the username stonetear, and the inactive website is registered to the email address An attorney for Platte River Networks, Kenneth Eichner, is declining to comment on the matter. Combetta is currently one of the targets of a broader Oversight investigation on whether Clinton ordered the destruction of emails that had been subpoenaed by the Benghazi Committee. The Science Committee has launched its own probe into the security of Clinton’s server. (Source

Paul Combetta, an IT specialist who helped Hillary Clinton wipe her server clean of evidence requested from federal authorities, took to online forums to find advice on how to commit the crime. Combetta cited his Fifth Amendment rights in refusing to answer questions before a congressional committee last week, but was pretty talkative when trying to find out information from fellow IT experts on how to forge Clinton’s e-mails. Under a posting on 8chan titled “Here is clear proof that Hillary sought to destroy evidence,” Combetta can be seen posting under a username he uses multiple times across multiple platforms, ‘stonetear.’ In a screenshot of the discussion, Combetta (or stonetear) can be seen telling others “I need to strip out a VIP’s (VERY VIP) email address from a bunch of archived emails.” Presumably, that VIP would be Secretary of State Clinton. As word began circulating that Combetta had been caught red-handed asking how to illegally forge Hillary’s e-mails, the man known as ‘stonetear’ began deleting his messages on the forum. Twitter user Erik Jones took video in which he refreshed his screen to show the messages disappearing. Watch …

The FBI on Friday released 11 pages of notes from its July 2 interview with Hillary Clinton, as well as a 47-page summary of its now-closed investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state. According to the documents, Clinton said that she did not know she was required to keep records of her emails when she left office, and that she did not recall any briefing or training instructing her to do so. Clinton told the FBI that, because of a concussion and blood clot she suffered in 2012, she did not recall all briefings she received as she was transitioning out of office. "Because of her doctor's advice, she could only work at State for a few hours a day and could not recall every briefing she received," the document noted. Clinton also told the FBI that she did not understand that emails marked with a "C" meant they contained classified information. The Democratic presidential nominee also said she relied on her subordinates' judgement when emailing her sensitive information on her private email system. (Source)

Hillary Clinton is facing the possibility of new revelations on her personal email scandal on multiple fronts, as the FBI prepares to release some of the documents from its investigation in a matter of days – and a watchdog group sends the Democratic presidential nominee a detailed set of questions she’s expected to answer “under oath” by next month. The FBI files are being released in response to a number of Freedom of Information Act requests.

With more records reported to be released, AP reports another nail in the coffin of Clinton honesty today as The State Department is forced to admit that The FBI has discovered dozens of emails related to Benghazi that Clinton failed to hand over.

(...) In March 2009, after meeting with Swiss Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey, then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton intervened with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on behalf of Switzerland's most powerful banking institution, UBS. The IRS, which at that time was seeking the identity of wealthy Americans who had stashed some $20 billion in 52,000 tax evading UBS accounts, then agreed that the Swiss bank need only turn over information on 4,450 accounts. Afterwards, UBS increased its previous $60,000 in donations to the Clinton Foundation ten-fold. By the end of 2014, UBS donations to the Clinton Foundation totaled $600,000. UBS also "paid former President Bill Clinton $1.5 million to participate in a series of question-and-answer sessions with UBS Wealth Management Chief Executive Bob McCann, making UBS his biggest single corporate source of speech income disclosed since he left the White House."

It’s called the “tick tock” email, just recently released by Wikileaks. The email shows Hillary Clinton’s office outlining how Mrs. Clinton must be given full credit for what took place in Libya before and after the fall of the Gaddafi regime – a fall that resulted in a missing 1.5 billion dollars sent to Libya by Hillary Clinton, the subsequent death of four Americans, including the first U.S. ambassador to die on duty in more than thirty years, and thousands more deaths as Libya descended into anarchy. And it was all done after the House of Saud wished it so – the very same House of Saud that has “donated” millions to the Clinton Foundation and the Hillary Clinton campaign. And here is the tick-tock email showing how badly Hillary Clinton wanted credit for Libya. Since the country has fallen into chaos and become and ISIS stronghold, Mrs. Clinton and her campaign don’t wish to discuss it anymore… (...)

Hillary Clinton’s team of aides and lawyers deleted emails from her private server using a software program intended to “prevent recovery” and hide traces of deleted files. South Carolina Rep. Citing notes that FBI investigators took during their probe of Clinton’s private email server, Gowdy said that Clinton’s team used open source software called BleachBit to remove tens of thousands of emails from her server. Clinton surrogate Austan Goolsbee last last night queried on FoxNews had no better argument to bring up than "we reached the stage of nit picking". He's right of course, there is no excuse for this blatant pay-for-play between Hillary's State Department and the Clinton Foundation:

  • Among the 725 pages of new State Department documents released by Judicial Watch Monday were previously unreleased email exchanges that further expose how Hillary Clinton’s top aides and her State Department engaged in pay-for-play politics with the Clinton Foundation. The Abedin emails reveal that the longtime Clinton aide apparently served as a conduit between Clinton Foundation donors and Hillary Clinton while Clinton served as secretary of state. In more than a dozen email exchanges, Abedin provided expedited, direct access to Clinton for donors who had contributed from $25,000 to $10 million to the Clinton Foundation. The press release from Judicial Watch includes 20 Hillary Clinton email exchanges that were not previously turned over to the State Department. The documents reveal that Clinton’s right-hand woman Huma Abedin “provided influential Clinton Foundation donors special, expedited access to the Secretary of State.” (More)
  • The FBI has uncovered 14,900 emails and documents from Hillary Clinton’s private email server investigation that were not originally disclosed by Clinton’s attorneys, the Washington Post reported Monday. Justice Department lawyers said last week that the State Department would review and turn over Clinton’s work-related emails to a conservative legal group. The records are among “tens of thousands” of documents found by the FBI in its probe and turned over to State Department, Justice Department attorney Lisa Ann Olson said Monday in court. (...) U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg of Washington has started to press the State Department to release these documents sooner than the planned date, which is mid-October. Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said that his organization was pleased with this ruling. (More)

Multiple FBI investigations are underway involving potential corruption charges against the Clinton Foundation, according to a former senior law enforcement official. The investigation centers on New York City where the Clinton Foundation has its main offices, according to the former official who has direct knowledge of the activities. Prosecutorial support will come from various U.S. Attorneys Offices — a major departure from other centralized FBI investigations. The New York-based probe is being led by Preet Bharara, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York. Bharara’s prosecutorial aggressiveness has resulted in a large number of convictions of banks, hedge funds and Wall Street insiders. The official said involvement of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York “would be seen by agents as a positive development as prosecutors there are generally thought to be more aggressive than the career lawyers within the DOJ.” (...)  Nicholas Biase, a spokesman for Bharara, said he would “decline comment.” Similarly, FBI spokeswoman Samantha Shero said, “we do not have a comment on investigative activity.” Bharara is best known for securing convictions of prominent political figures (...)

Trey Gowdy’s exchange with FBI Director James Comey about his get out jail free pass to Hillary Clinton is one for the record books. In one fell swoop, Gowdy exposed both Comey and Hillary. And it appears Gowdy has bigger judicial plans for Crooked Hillary. Gowdy appeared to be setting Hillary Clinton up for perjury charges. Corrupt Hillary previously testified about her emails to the House Benghazi Committee. Specifically Hillary said under oath that she had not sent or received classified documents on her personal email server. Under cross examination from Trey Gowdy, Comey admitted that Hillary lied. Since she was under oath, this sets her up for being charged with perjury. (More)

An email sent through Hillary Clinton’s private sever betrayed the name of the National Security Agency’s representative to the State Department. The email was contained in a batch of 296 pages of Clinton’s correspondence released on Tuesday in response to a Judicial Watch lawsuit. The emails, reviewed in full by Breitbart Jerusalem, include 44 messages that were not previously released. One email was sent to Clinton at her private email address from aide Cheryl Mills, stating the name of the NSA rep. The name was redacted in the version of the email released by the State Department to Judicial Watch. The stamp on the email relates the name was redacted by the NSA itself.
